While Reiki training is usually delivered over one longer or two shorter days, I will be hosting a women's only weekend training where we can all wrap ourselves in gentle learning and experience over a couple of days and nights, disconnecting from the outside world...with a touch of soft luxury, as well as support from the ancient lands of rural north Yorkshire.

During this September Reiki level 1 training, I will teach you how to perceive subtle energies and you will learn how to channel Reiki for yourself, and in-person for friends and family. This gentle energy-based healing practice will help you to reconnect with your inner healing abilities, natural vitality and innate presence.

You will learn that Reiki is ultimately a journey inwards to presence first, or in other words, an awakening to presence. It’s not about fixing, it’s about tending to our own inner landscapes so that we become the embodiment of this presence.  You will learn that healing is not something done to another, but something that arises naturally when we become a clear, neutral vessel for life energy to move.

In a sense, Reiki is a quiet revolution of the spirit; a personal awakening that has the power to contribute to collective healing.  

REIKI ENERGY

The practice itself is rooted in Japanese tradition, the word "Reiki" combines "Rei" (universal) and "Ki" (life energy), which reflects its purpose: to channel universal life force energy to support balance and well-being. Reiki is not tied to any specific religion making it accessible to everyone regardless of belief system.

During a Reiki session, you use your hands to apply light touch or hover just above the physical body, guiding energy to areas where it’s most needed. The aim is to release energetic blockages, fostering relaxation and promoting the body's natural healing abilities.

Many people turn towards Reiki to alleviate stress, ease anxiety, and enhance overall emotional and physical health and find that following sessions, there are feelings of peace, deep relaxation, clarity, deeper sleep, unhelpful patterns/dependencies decreasing, pain relief, happiness…the list does go on but above all I would say it gives people the space to reconnect with the self through presence and stillness.

As it is a safe and non-invasive practice, it is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical treatments to support healing and is increasingly being used in hospitals and hospices to help those that need end of life support. 

THE VENUE

I have chosen to host this training at The Acorn Retreat. I have retreated here myself, and have never quite dropped into the same retreat softness as I have here. As soon as you step on to this land, you feel its graceful potency. It is situated on a ley line and a short walk from Brimham Rocks which in itself is palpable, but the way the Acorn itself was set up is felt not only in the land, but also in the energy of the building.
