Soft luxury. Ancient lands. A small group of curious, heart-led women. Your creativity and expression. Breathwork. Movement. Rest. Sauna. Shadow Work. Presence. Emergence.

‘Emergence’ is rooted in the belief that each of us deserves to feel as comfortable in our our own expression and creativity as possible, as this is how we make sense of the world, and how the world makes sense of us.

To live creatively and in your fullest expression means to live a life brimming with awe. With curiosity. With a vitality that fuels your life-force. It means questioning the common narrative, connecting the dots. Understanding that every minuscule choice you have agency over, is actively designing this life.

Creativity is not a phenomenon that some people have and others don't. And being creative does not mean that you need to be an artist. Every single one of us is creative - it just looks and moves differently for each of us.

So when we tend to the nervous system, when we sense into how the body wants to move freely, when we take the time to be open to the felt-sense of any given moment, when we breathe into the ways we may have been conditioned and judged out of our fullest expression, when we work with the energy body…this is when expression has the chance to unfurl and your creativity expands exponentially. In ways that are entirely, uniquely yours.

So, this is the invitation:

Three days. Soft luxury on 24 acres of ancient lands. Organic, locally-sourced food by our in-house chef [angel] Sarah. A small group of curious, heart-led women. Your voice and breath. Workshops. Rest. A load of laughs. And your creativity and expression - already alive in you, already moving, waiting for enough space and holding to unfurl.

Will you join us?

October 2nd - 5th, The Acorn Retreat.

  • An invitation to let the mind settle, and to finally let the body lead. Through breath, through presence, through movement, through whatever wants to surface.

  • An honest, open exploration held by counsellor Martha Hunt in how shame and perceived judgement shapes the way we show up creatively with confidence, and what becomes possible when the grip loosens.

  • Exploring creative cycles, capacity, and how to align the mind and body for creative expansion.

  • Engage in the practice of presence and noticing with silent dawn and dusk walks in the North Yorkshire landscape. Dissolving the boundaries between the self and nature’s ever changing movements.

  • Making sound. Making noise. Using sound and the voice as a creative tool to decondition and de-armour the mind, body and spirit.

  • Sauna, steam room, slowing down, digital detox, fully catered so you don’t have to lift a finger, endless cups of tea with your fellow retreaters…

YOUR HOME FOR THE WEEKEND

We have chosen to hold ‘Emergence’ at The Acorn Retreat. Ellie has retreated here herself AND held a training here for good reason. The Acorn is situated within 24 acres of ancient wilderness, on a ley line in the the heart of Nidderdale; you can feel its potency as soon as you arrive. It somehow feels like a portal, as well as home from home. You will have the use of the sauna and steam room during your stay, as well as quiet nooks for peace and rest.

All meals will be lovingly made by chef extraordinaire Sarah Wheelhouse who will nourish you with organic, gluten free, vegan dishes during your stay. She is also a verified angel send from somewhere divine - you’ll know what we mean when you meet her.

Meet The Team

This retreat was born in the honest space between two friends in the therapy and practitioner space, who spent years shrinking their own expression, until slowly, they felt safe enough to expand.

Between us, we bring over a decade of working with humans in their moments of unravelling. The messy, beautiful process of becoming more yourself.

Ellie Hunzinger

Breathwork Facilitator ~ Reiki Teacher ~ Musician

Ellie works at the intersection of somatics, esotericism and creativity - using breath, energy work, and her own lived experience of creative unblocking to hold space for others. She knows deeply what it is like to be fearful of your own expression and perceived judgement. She now also knows what it feels like to be on the other side.

Ellie holds space with a quality of attention that is both rigorous and tender, shaped by years of sitting with her own unravelling, and that of her clients. The slow, unglamorous work of breathing through her our own conditioning, loosening the grip of perfectionism, and finding our way back to genuine, joyous expression.

Martha Hunt

Humanistic Counsellor ~ Artist

Martha brings therapeutic depth. A humanistic counsellor, she holds a profound curiosity for the human experience and the rhythms of undoing and recreation that mark our becoming.

She is well acquainted with the fear, shame, and judgement that can arise when the authentic self is invited to expand, and, rooting her practice in embodied compassion, offers tender pathways towards flourishing.
